The State of the Digital Realm: The Adventure So Far for Talisman: Digital 5th Edition
Hello, and welcome to Talisman Realm!
First off, the entire team here at Nomad Games want to welcome you to the new online home for all things Talisman.
With Talisman: Digital 5th Edition having been on its own grand quest for nearly an entire year now, we wanted to take this opportunity to share an update on our journey: where we are, the lessons we've learned so far, and the exciting future that awaits.
Where We Are Now: A Stable and Expanding Realm
The first year of Talisman: Digital 5th Edition has been a monumental one. Our biggest milestone was the July launch of Alliances: Fate Beckons, the very first expansion exclusive to this new edition. Introducing a fully cooperative game mode was a huge undertaking, and the Nomad Games team have been thrilled with the community's reception, especially the praise for the new tutorials that help players dive into this fresh way to play.
Throughout this first year, our primary focus has been on stability and working on player feedback. We're proud to say that the game is in a very healthy state, with a massive reduction in bugs and issues reported than during the launch of its predecessor, Talisman: Digital Classic Edition.
Of course, our studio isn’t slacking off at all. We’ve been listening closely to community feedback and are committed to continuing to improve the core experience of Talisman: Digital 5th Edition for all players. We’ve also learned valuable lessons from remastering classic content like The Frostmarch and The Reaper. A key takeaway was that recreating the artwork for these beloved expansions is a massive investment of time and resources.
To bring you more of the classic content you love at a much faster pace, we'll be adjusting our approach for future remastered expansions. We will be porting them with artwork that remains more faithful to their original 4th Edition style, allowing us to deliver fan-favourite expansions like The City and The Dungeon much more quickly.
What Lies Ahead: The Quest Continues
The future is bright for Talisman: Digital 5th Edition, and here’s a look at some of what we're working on right now:
● Talisman on Your Console: This is the big one. We are actively developing ports for Xbox and PlayStation! We are deep into the development and certification process and are pleased with the performance so far. We are targeting a launch in November 2025 and will share more details as soon as we can.
● More Classic Expansions: The journey back to the 4th Edition classics continues! The next remaster expansions we’ll be bringing to the game is one of the most-requested by the community: The City.
● Returning Heroes: Next year, another pack of your favourite characters from Talisman: Digital Classic Edition will be remastered and brought over to join the adventure in 5th Edition.
● Game Improvements: We are working on follow-up patches for Alliances: Fate Beckons that will introduce quality-of-life improvements based on player feedback. We're also finalising full support for Russian and Simplified Chinese and adding new accessibility features and improvements to the game.
Our Vision: A Unified Future for Digital Talisman
Our long-term goal is for Talisman: Digital 5th Edition to become the definitive digital Talisman experience. Focusing our small team's energy on a single, modern game engine has allowed us to develop features faster, fix issues more reliably, and give the game the dedicated support it deserves.
But what about Talisman: Digital Classic Edition? We have immense respect for the game that started it all. To honour its legacy, we have bundled the base game and all of its 48 DLCs into the Talisman: Digital Classic Complete Collection on Steam. This preserves the complete 4th Edition experience for fans and newcomers alike, while making it clear that all future development and innovation will happen in Talisman: Digital 5th Edition.
